Tenderfoot rank requirements cooking event

Posted on Oct 10 2020 - 9:33am

The scouts who are working on their Tenderfoot rank need to complete the cooking requirements 2a, b and c.  Because of the current moratorium on overnight troop camp outs, we are planning a cooking event of Saturday, October 17th at Mr. Sowden's house from 1:00 to 4:00. The: rain date would be Saturday, November 14th. To ensure that we maximize safety relative to Covid 19, we are going to make this an aluminum foil cooking event. We are asking that each scout prepare an aluminum foil meal at home, write their name on the aluminum foil with a sharpie and cook the meal on the campfire on Saturday afternoon. Pioneering Merit Badge

Posted on Jul 4 2020 - 11:11am
A few scouts have shown an interest in working on the Pioneering Merit Badge.  This is a cool Merit badge in which you learn many knots as well as become more familiar with the use of square, diagonal and shear lashings to build structures-see the attached requirements. We have room for about 6 more scouts.

Wednesday Troop meetings are canceled until further notice

Posted on Mar 14 2020 - 3:57pm

After considerable debate internally, compounded by Penfield Schools closing, we have decided to cancel Wednesday night troop meetings until further notice.  This is not a decision we take lightly, however it is National BSA policy to follow the communities lead and the school districts lead.
